We are a thriving and growing company looking for a great engineer. This is a role for a Senior Software Test Engineer to grow and thrive. We are looking not only for a talented engineer, we are looking for someone who will contribute to our overall culture.
Job Description

• Motorola Solutions is building talent pipelines to meet future hiring demands. This is a pipeline role, while there may not be an immediate opening, we want to build relationships with prospective candidates. If your background is a match to our requirements, we will follow up with an exploratory conversation.

• This position can be either predominantly remote or onsite at our Allen, TX location.

• Test and prove that the software meets major architectural requirements

• Prove for scalability and performance of a software

• Ensuring the quality of the system as a whole 

• Develop and automate tests for software validation

• Detect and report bug issues

• Prepare file defect reports and report test progress

• Take part in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

• Learn and deeply understand the range of Motorola Solutions internal platforms.

• Create a technical approach and a design for new features that span the organization.

• Explore and define gaps between current platform capabilities, and those needed for new features.

• Work with various engineers and architects within the platforms and products teams to improve our adoption of industry best practices for cloud, on premise, and IoT security.

• Communicate effectively to others within the organization.

• Ability to mentor others.

• Willing to learn and develop skills and knowledge.

• Implements the appropriate level of engineering process, rigor, and cross functional review

• Starts and finishes tasks with minimal management oversight

• Maintains a positive attitude throughout typical work-related challenges

• A balance between passion and objectivity

Preferred Skills

• 3+ years experience in test case creation and development

• 3+ years experience in a programming language (Python, C#, Javascript)

• 3+ years experience with test automation 

• Experience with the full application lifecycle 

• Experience with performance testing

• Experience with testing message based services 

• Experience with test data management 

• Experience with Microsoft Azure

• Experience with Azure Government

• Experience with Azure DevOps

• Experience working with remote teams

• Experience with the full application lifecycle 

• Experience and familiarity with a full Agile development process, including continuous integration and deployment, and feature flags.

• Experience with Continuous Delivery

• Experience with Docker and/or containers

• Experience with git version control

• Strong communication skills

Basic Requirements

• Bachelors degree in engineering discipline and 3+ years of Software Testing experience or 5+ years of Software Testing experience
