This role is a senior technical marketing position in VMware's Modern Applications Platform Business Unit. This role will be responsible for driving external and internal enablement for VMware's modern applications initiatives. Previous experience with IT infrastructure platforms and cloud native applications strongly desired.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer who is passionate about helping transform the way enterprises build, run and manage modern applications and platforms.

As a SeniorTechnical Marketing Engineer

• You will present technical presentations to the Vmware field, customers and partners
• You will also work cross-functionally between the product management, engineering and marketing teams to create technical content for Tanzu products and solutions targeted to customers, sales engineers and partners.
• You will create technical sales materials and tools such as technical presentations, demo labs, competitive labs, solutions briefs and tutorials.
• Your work will influence Tanzu technical best practices guides, architectural designs, test plans, integration guides and reference architectures.
• You will be expected to establish yourself as the Subject Matter Expert in the product and solutions and speak at conferences and customer/partner webinars.
• You will also work closely with Tanzu technology partners in regards to product integration, best practices and solutions.

Desired Experience / Capabilities:
• 8+ years technical product management or technical marketing experience on a complex and technical software project of significant scope.
• Strong technical knowledge of datacenter infrastructure across compute, network, storage, and management, including both consumption and operations tasks.• Strong technical knowledge of modern cloud frameworks such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Strong desire and ability to connect with customers and the field, understand their challenges, and communicate a vision for how Tanzu products can address those challenges.
• Strong communication skills across verbal, written, and presented content.• Strong interpersonal skills dealing with executive leadership, peers, and team members.
• Experience taking early stage products from concept through early go-to-market.• Experience working with and influencing executive leadership.• Familiarity with software development and operations practices including development of distributed applications, agile development, and continuousintegration/continuousdeployment.
