Senior Facilities Operations Specialist
Department/Group Overview:
The Technical Facilities Group consists of four segments: Integration, Operations, Design & Drafting and Logistics.
Collectively, this group is responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of all DSS managed properties and their critical systems as well as the tracking, protection and management of assets across all locations. Technical Facilities managed locations provide the physical infrastructure that supports our product ecosystem.
Job Summary:
Work closely with Tech facilities' team to build, install, troubleshoot, and maintain critical equipment, schedule contractors supervise them across DSS managed facilities. Takes the initiative to find the most elegant and efficient solutions to installation problems while completing assigned work within project timelines. Provide EOW reports to immediate supervisor.
Responsibilities :
- Perform all physical integration and critical data center infrastructure construction activities, from cable fabrication, labeling, installation, cable sorting and cable dress to rack assembly, and equipment (hardware) installation.
- Actively communicates project progress, conflicts, and potential blockers to supervisors and key department contacts as needed to ensure mission critical objectives are met.
- Maintain a high degree of organization within all Data Centers and project work sites, performing site cleanup, reporting on inventory usage, and maintaining Technical Facilities' tools
- Power IQ monitoring and basic programming
- BMS monitoring
Basic Qualifications :
- High level proficiency in reading and understanding technical documentation with the ability to update and maintain accurate documentation across company platforms including Confluence and Google Drive
- Proficiency with all data center testing equipment, including Fluke cable and fiber testers
- Detailed knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word and other essential office programs
- Able to update and maintain accurate documentation across company platforms including Confluence and Google Drive, and VidCAD
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative, with a willingness to learn new processes, policies and procedures
- Skilled in the following termination types: RJ45, BNC, HDBNC, Din, Mini-DIN, RCA
- Basic Power IQ knowledge base and programming skills
- Base knowledge of BMS operation and monitoring
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work off hours when needed
- BS in related technical field preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 40+lbs
