Job Responsibilities
As Sr. Systems Test Engineer, you will work on important DoD programs and projects that provide systems to support command and control, surveillance, intelligence, weapon status, and situational awareness communications over Link 16. You will enjoy interacting with multidisciplinary teams (digital, RF, mechanical, and software) to integrate and test terminals and systems. You will develop test plans and procedures to perform requirements verification of the system and execute manual and automated test cases as well as perform verification and validation of requirements, document test results, perform regression testing, failure analysis, and create discrepancy reports. You will also have the opportunity to develop reusable automated test cases for regression, stability and new feature testing and develop test software to automate testing and use database software to document test cases, track test progress, and document trouble reports.
Requirements
- 8+ years Test Systems design and integration of Specialized Test Equipment that encompasses both Hardware/Software testing strategies in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrates proficiency using test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, digital signal generators, etc
- Moderate understanding of RF principles such as linearity, NF, Gain, VSWR, etc and methods used for testing them
- Experience with RF Front end components such as amplifiers, filters, couplers, attenuators, etc.
- General knowledge of communication theory and practical applications such as TDMA, Frequency hopping spread spectrum, QPSK, GMSK ,etc.
- Experience with circuit design (RF/BB) including circuit simulation, schematic and layout capture, PWA fabrication, and verification testing
- Experience with test strategies, executing tests, writing test plans and test reports.
- Familiarity with Production processes and ability to clearly communicate and interact with other Operations Departments to create comprehensive Manufacturing Test Plans
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Ability to lead and work side by side in the lab with highly technical teams.
- US government position. US citizenship required
- Up to 25% travel
Preferences
- Experience with RF Simulation Tools
- Experience with Schematic/Layout tools
- Experience in scripting control of test equipment and Device Under Test (LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or any other Test SW Development experience)
- Experience with STE sustaining and maintenance activities.
- Experience with Test SW development
- Experience with Test SW release review process
- Experience with Test Fixture HW Design review process
- Knowledge of Boundary Scan Testing capabilities of complex digital/analog PWAs
- Knowledge of Link 16 or other Tactical Data Link experience
