About the Team & Role:

The Senior Solutions Engineer will work alongside other Sales team members in presenting Abacus Insights' solutions and products to prospective clients and support the pre-sale process by providing technical expertise. In addition, this individual will work closely with potential clients to understand their needs and demonstrate how the Abacus Insights data solutions can meet them. The Senior Solutions Engineer is essential in bridging the technical and business challenges and delivering solutions and services that inspire our customers and are compelling to the market.

You Will:

  • Guide technical discussions with potential clients to understand their challenges and business goals.
  • Lead solution demos, client white-boarding, and deep-dive sessions with a strong focus on consultative selling.
  • Design and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to potential clients, highlighting the key features and benefits of the Abacus Insights platform.
  • Respond to technical questions and requests for information from potential clients, both during the sales process and after the sale.
  • Define data solutions, set key business objectives, and build product strategies for solutions.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to create strategies to drive "technical wins" to acquire new clients and upsell existing clients.
  • Support the development of proposals and contribute to pricing models and budgeting scenarios, drafting Enterprise License Agreements, SOWs, and solution sections of RFP responses necessary for successful launch and delivery.
  • Collaborate with the implementation team to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to post-sales.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and continuously seek opportunities to improve and optimize solution delivery.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales or solutions engineering role, preferably in the payer healthcare industry.
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare payer industry and the challenges faced by payer/provider organizations.
  • Subject matter expertise in health data and business unit functions; working knowledge of different components of the payer value chain (e.g., utilization management, risk adjustment, payment integrity, cost of care processes, member experience).
  • Understanding of various sales methodologies such as Challenger, Solution Selling, etc.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, product management, and implementation.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, and data terms – JSON, ETL tools, data mappings, data profiling, SQL, data pipelines entity resolution, data catalog, data governance, data distribution, running or writing simple Python scripts.
  • Familiarity with Databricks/Spark and Snowflake platforms.
  • Working knowledge of data architecture fundamentals – data model concepts, analytical vs. operational workloads, latency, and performance considerations.
  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
