The Sr. QA Test Automation Engineer is responsible for testing software applications with a focus on quality and reliability. They are responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions and strategy. The Engineer will provide technical advice and direction to help the team deliver effective automation solutions. They will work closely with their Agile team, participating in Agile ceremonies, contributing to developing acceptance criteria, and creating test cases and test scripts needed for successful execution of manual and automated functional tests. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and resolved prior to release.

We're looking for a talented, self-driven individual able to:

  • Display a strong understanding of Agile QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Apply Quality Engineering principles throughout the Agile lifecycle
  • Lead and drive "Quality as a Team Mindset" within the team
  • Acquire domain knowledge and product expertise
  • Partner closely with the team to decompose stories/business requirements into test cases that clearly articulate test objectives, steps and expected results
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, perform and document test execution results
  • Participate in and conduct regular test case peer reviews and automation code reviews
  • Build, test, deploy, monitor and maintain effective test automation solutions
  • Report, track and resolve defects prior to release
  • Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)
  • Develop and maintain a regression testing strategy for supported applications
  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks
  • Lead automation strategies/solutions within team and across discipline
  • Evaluate and propose use of new tools for continuous improvement and to drive automation strategies forward
  • Mentor others in test automation and QA best practices
  • Be a team player with strong communication and collaboration skills


Desired Skills:

  • Ability to build and improve CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient testing and deployment processes (experience is a plus)
  • Knowledge of corporate applications: Service Now, SharePoint, Workday
  • Banking experience is a plus


Education/Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and/or certifications
  • Knowledge of automation tools - examples: Smartbear suite (Testcomplete, QA Complete, Ready API or SoapUI), Cypress, Selenium / Appium, Postman, Swagger, GitLab, CI/CD (Concourse knowledge a plus)
  • Extensive knowledge/experience (5+ years) of web, mobile, API, microservices, and database automation
  • Scripting languages (proficient): Java, Javascript, C#, XML, SQL, Powershell
  • Knowledge of MS Office: Work, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access
