The Large Power Systems Division is looking for a Sr. Engineer to accelerate our development of advanced power systems focusing on electrification through the development of controls systems for fuel cell and battery electric applications. In this role, you will be responsible to create controls systems strategies that will enable optimized power and energy systems for applications in Construction, Mining, and Energy & Transportation. This will enable the delivery of sustainable solutions to our customers around the world through the continued development of battery and fuel cell power systems. You will provide technical leadership that will shape the future of Caterpillar’s advanced power systems product offerings.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Create control system strategies and requirements for advanced power systems
Manage creation, validation, and implementation aspects of software
Work with project leads to support power system projects with controls systems
Protect Caterpillar’s intellectual property
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited curriculum
Technical Leadership - Experience with power systems, electrical systems, simulation, and controls
5+ years of relevant engineering work experience
Strong communication skills – Oral and written complemented by the ability to develop/deliver technical presentations
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Master’s degree (or higher) in Engineering from an accredited curriculum
Prior experience or coursework dealing with battery electric and/or fuel cell electric power systems
Prior experience with power systems controls development

This position is located Mossville, IL
Up to 10% Travel likely.
