Sr Dir, Engineering
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for strategic direction and management of the engineering staff and facilities, across various platforms, in various locations, with varying degrees of technology with in Video Set Top Box (STB) space. Create, implement and enhance consistent engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery consistent with company initiatives and expectations. Support video and field operations in the deployment and maintenance of all Spectrum video set top boxes. Direct project planning, capital budgeting and business plan development. Ensure a high degree of cross functional communication in line with product deployment and support. Work closely with third party CPE and STB vendors.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for the delivery of all set top box development to field and network operation partners.• Partners closely with product leaders on set to box development roadmap.• Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the video customer experience.• Leads an innovative, collaborative work team to produce exceptional results delivering the customer experience.• Oversees specific set top box support for team such field and video operations.• Provides engineering support and direction for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives.• Evaluates and consults with executive management regarding technical operations, strategic planning of rebuilds, network operations, dispatch, and new product development and deployment.• Directs quality control programs for engineering operations and consistent operational procedures.• Reviews selections on bids for contracted projects, and provides recommendations as necessary.• Directs capital budget process, executes approved budget plan.• Leads and participates in succession planning.• Performs other duties as requested by Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks• Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure• Ability to supervise and motivate others• Ability to use personal computer and software applications• Knowledge of all FCC compliance reports and other rules and regulations desired• Comprehensive understanding of applicable local and state rules and regulations• Technical experience in CPE and/or Set Top Box space high preferred• Exceptional leadership skills• Organizational Agility• Strategic Agility
Education
Master's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
Related Work Experience
9 years Management experience
12 years Software, Engineering and/or network operations experience
5 years Project management experience

The pay for this position has a minimum of $135,300.00. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
