The Mobile Technology organization leads a coordinated technology approach to continually improving Schwab's Mobile solutions for Retail, Retirement, and the Automated Investment Platforms. Our team is seeking a talented Senior Android Developer, who embraces being a technical leader and has a passion for using state of the art technologies to build compelling interactive mobile applications.

What you are good at

As the Sr. Android Developer, you will be responsible for leading the development efforts and providing guidance to the engineering team across Schwab's suite of mobile applications for Retail, Retirement, and Intelligent Assistant. You will participate in design discussions as well as mentor and remove roadblocks for engineers on the team. You will work closely with the Principal Android Developer in creating the vision and roadmap for Schwab's suite of mobile applications. You will be part of several Mobile teams that are passionate about building apps that are secure and customer delightful to use. You will construct, enhance, and troubleshoot native Android apps in an Agile, collaborative environment. You will implement complex new features and functionality, as well as build entire applications end-to-end and you will work closely with developers, designers, and our business partners to create beautiful, functional solutions

What you have

• 7+ years of Android development experience with team leadership experience
• Strong problem-solving skills and deep experience coaching and mentoring junior developers
• Experience with REST, JSON, XML and interfacing Android applications to server-side APIs.
• Proficiency with Kotlin strongly preferred
• Solid grasp of algorithms, memory management, and real-time communications
• Familiarity with Agile practices
• Thorough understanding of mobile encryption algorithms, analytics, and social channel integration
• Experience in developing reusable artifacts, modules, and assets
• Understand mobile performance, latency, and security issues with extensive experience using performance analysis tools,
• Knowledgeable of security best practices for mobile application development/integration
• In-depth knowledge of current technological trends, developments, and best practices in information security, wireless
• network architecture, mobile technologies, and associated concepts
