We are looking for a SQL DBA to join our Las Vegas, NV team to help us achieve our departmental goal of 99.99% system availability. If you are someone that would like to have a direct impact on the success of a growing, wide-area gaming department and interact with other Industry Leading Aristocrat teams on a regular basis, as our SQL Database Subject Matter Expert. What You'll Do

  • Work closely with our Finance, Sales, Compliance, Shipping/Receiving and Order Management teams, and other business units to ensure that the MSP (Multi-site Progressive) product is deployed and maintained effectively
  • Create and administer database objects from design to deployment utilizing subject matter expertise to design or re-use, configure, and implement database solutions/processes that maximize system availability, efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, recoverability, and supportability
  • All aspects of database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
  • Develop and implement Database security policies and procedures, in line with corporate objectives
  • Responsible for evaluating patch releases and patching requests from development, and communicating constraints, issues, and timelines for deployment
  • Implementation and ongoing support of high availability architecture standards and technologies
  • Create and maintain appropriate documentation about the database and the data architecture.
  • Support data management solutions including: ETL processing, data archive, SSRS reporting, etc.
  • Regular proactive capacity planning and tending reviews of all SQL Server databases. Producing daily, weekly, monthly management reports


What We're Looking For

  • Must have 3 - 5 years SQL Server DBA working experience with SQL Server
  • Must be knowledgeable and experienced on the different versions of SQL Server
  • Must have skills and experience in Database data management - backups, ETL, and archive using native SQL Server backup tools
  • Collaborate with your team of system engineers and data center service providers to ensure SQL services are proactively monitored, managed, and tuned for optimal performance
  • Ensuring that database performance functions at a high level, remediation of problem areas are identified and addressed, High Availability solutions and backups are maintained, and disaster recovery (RPO and RTO) policies & procedures are maintained
  • Create and manage a methodology for ongoing assessment of database performance and identification of problem areas


Qualified Candidates will have:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL Server and experience developing SQL queries
  • 3+ years of experience performing DBA roles with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Effective interpersonal skills including communication (listening and responding), collaboration, and interaction skills with internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a reporting system that contains data from various sources
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills along with good work planning skills
  • A proven track record of delivering quality database solutions
