Solution Architect
Role Overview:
The Solution Architect provides a channel between the enterprise architecture perspective and the technical architecture viewpoint to ensure that a new solution, infrastructure or service fits the IT ecosystem.
The Solution Architect is responsible for ensuring technical integrity and consistency across solutions and infrastructure. The role is responsible for overall design quality as well as implementation detail and integration aspects ensuring that the architecture of the solution's hardware and/or software configuration meet the Quality of Service business and IT requirements. At the same time representing the optimum way to deploy and run the solution or infrastructure in the target environment.
As well as providing advanced technical expertise and technical leadership the Solution Architect should also provide thought leadership to inspire IT team members to support systems thinking and design thinking.
Specific Responsibilities/Functions
- Analyse Technology Services' ecosystem
- Ensure security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability consistency
- Participate in technology selection
- Describe the structure, characteristics, behaviour and other aspects of new solutions or infrastructure to stakeholders
- Guide technical teams on technical design, implementation and run operations
- Define features, patterns and standards
- Provide specifications according to which the solution or infrastructure is designed, built, deployed and run
- Create in-depth technical design and deployment documentation (build and configuration specifications, Visio diagrams, Level of Effort (LOE), and Bills of Materials (BOM))
- Support demand management and project management
- Maintain technical vendor relationships with key partners and stay abreast of respective new solutions advancements
- Maintain high level of industry awareness through training and self-development
About You
- Strong history of experience in infrastructure operations
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Experience in Hardware Systems Engineering, Virtualization, Compute Storage and Data Protection
- Experience with diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments for large scale integrations and complex architectures
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
Knowledge of all components of a technical architecture
Ability to understand the long-term ( big picture ) and short-term perspectives of situations
Excellent planning and organizational skills
