Software Support Engineer, Mid

As a systems engineer on our team, you have the chance to support development and testing of Unmanned Carrier Aviation systems. Your technical expertise will be vital as you evaluate and provide software support for the Advanced Networking Tactical System (ANTS) Operational Support System (OSS). You'll develop your skills in automated system testing while gaining experience in securing tactical networks for the United States Navy and Department of Defense. Grow your skills by merging your Linux expertise with cybersecurity to create comprehensive, automated testing pipelines for ensuring efficient and secure updates to the ANTS OSS systems. You Have:

  • Experience with at least one scripting language
  • Experience in writing clear, high-quality, maintainable, and extendable code with best practices of automated unit tests
  • Experience diagnosing and debugging Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system faults
  • Knowledge of hardware debugging methods
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Physical Science, Operations Research, Statistics, or Engineering
  • CompTIA Security+, CASP, or CISSP Certification
  • RHCSA, RHCE, or RHCA Certification
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with the DoD
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Network Engineering in a DoD, Navy, or NAVWAR program
  • Experience designing, configuring, and operating enterprise-level cybersecurity architectures and using tools, including Security Center/Nessus, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), or Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, Jira, Artifactory, Confluence, and Bitbucket
  • Knowledge of Naval Information Warfare Systems Command mission
  • Knowledge of carrier-based flight operations
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum development framework

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
