đAbout the Role
As a Software Quality Engineering Manager, youâll be tasked with ensuring quality within Quantum Metric by hiring and mentoring other Replay & Capture (R&C) focused Software Quality Engineers (SQEs). As a first-line manager, youâll ensure that our engineers are well taken care of. Our amazing people are our most important asset and itâs your job to value them as such. Youâll listen, ask questions, coach, guide, and grow those who youâve been entrusted to lead.
Youâll also be tasked with ensuring quality within Quantum Metric, on our customerâs websites, and customerâs mobile apps. From unit tests to mobile end-to-end tests to Lighthouse performance testing and beyond, youâll be directly entrusted with the task of building tests around pieces of code being run on hundreds of millions of end-user devices at any given moment which directly powers our high fidelity session replays. đ§ Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor SQEs by giving them actionable feedback, setting clear goals, and coordinating project work as necessary.
- Hiring point of contact for new R&C SQEs
- Building automated tests: end to end, unit, contract, etc. against web capture and mobile SDKs
- Triaging customer's sites and mobile apps interacting with custom capture configurations
- Collaborating with Replay & Capture Team on testing efforts and planning
đĄ Requirements
- You have experience in JavaScript or TypeScript (web capture) OR Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C (mobile SDKs).
- Familiar with one or more test automation frameworks: Selenium, Puppeteer, Cypress, NightmareJS, TestCafe, XCTest, Appium, Selendroid, or other Android/iOS testing frameworks.
- Youâre curious and self-motivated, so youâre probably really familiar with a variety of different tech. We understand the value of learning continuously and expanding out of your comfort zone.
- Minimum of 4 years experience with JavaScript and modern browsers OR minimum of 4 years experience testing and automating against mobile SDKs
- 2+ years of professional experience in team leadership is preferred
- Bachelorâs Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent (NOTE: not required but nice to have, we have self-taught coders as well!)
- You exhibit passion, persistence, and integrity in all that you do.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with CI/CD Pipelines
- Comfortable working with clients to solve issues
- Compensation: $100k - $150k

- Experience with implementing Automated Performance Testing: Ex: Google Lighthouse, etc.Â
- Experience with HTTP debugging using tools such as Charles, Proxyman, etc.Â
