Fund Accounting Technology

The Fund Accounting Technology group runs the ledgers that account for the sophisticated funds and alternative assets managed by Blackstone. The team is vital to the running of the business, reporting on all aspects of the funds' lifecycle to fund management professionals, investors and regulators. The system is provided by industry-standard solutions such as Investran, together with bespoke software solutions developed by the team in order to meet Blackstone's complex requirements.

Overview:

Blackstone are looking for a Software Engineering Manager for the Fund Accounting Technology group within the Blackstone Technology and Innovations division. As a motivated, dynamic individual, you will lead and inspire a group of talented engineers and established architects and subject matter experts to produce innovative solutions for the business as we leverage the opportunities afforded by our recent move to the Cloud. You will develop our strategy for supporting Blackstone's rapidly expanding business, ensuring our colleagues in Finance are able to produce accurate quarterly numbers in demanding timeframes with a delightful user experience. You'll work closely with product managers, engineers and business and technology leaders in a culture that thrives on challenging the status quo.

You will draw on experience working with fund accounting platforms such as Investran, as well as a strong technical background and experience of leading agile development teams. You are able to drive a technical strategy but also to roll up your sleeves and dig into details where needed. You focus on quality and excellence, and are able to deliver to the business in a timely fashion along with driving outcomes which meet Blackstone's goals.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience working in the Asset Management industry is strongly preferred
• Experience of supporting accounting systems ( Oracle, Sage, Dynamics, eFront, AltaVista, etc.; Investran) is preferred
• Experience of automating complex accounting processes related to the general ledger system
• Demonstrated ability to lead an agile software development team
• Experience of managing and negotiating with software vendors
• Knowledge of cloud-based software development and infrastructure (AWS preferred)
• Knowledge of selected programming languages and databases (C#, Python, JavaScript, TSQL, MS SQL Server, MySQL)
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
