The Role
We are looking for Software Engineers who love solving complex problems and developing solutions that delight our customers. As a member of the Platform team, you will be responsible for building services that directly impact the day-to-day of our Engineering and technical teams. You will have the unique opportunity to be a part of a growing organization that has a direct impact on our teams’ abilities to produce a world class CRM platform. 

The Team
The Product and Engineering teams together consist of exceptional and passionate team members, working to make Knock the premier software product in the Multifamily industry. Our product covers a large surface - powering marketing automation, omni channel communications, AI bots, sales and renewal CRM, agent and self-guided touring, renter screening, sophisticated business intelligence capabilities, and much more. We follow an agile development process, and lean heavily on standard methodologies around PR FAQ’s, PRD, UX research and usability testing, SDLC, etc. all to ensure we are optimizing product fit and execution.

Day to Day

  • Collaborate with the Platform team to create high-performance, highly available and scalable systems
  • You will ensure our platform exceeds goals for availability, capacity, efficiency, scalability, and performance
  • Participate in design discussions and code reviews
  • Develop code in Python (as well as NodeJS) to further develop our services 
  • Work in an Agile environment with daily standups & 2 week sprints
  • Partner & communicate with DevOps, Engineering, Product Management, and other internal team members
  • Contribute to technical decision making, understanding coding limitations, and overcoming roadblocks 
  • Designing, programming, debugging and modifying software enhancements

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience programming in a production environment with any modern, web-based programming languages (Python, JavaScript, C#.Net, Java, etc.)
  • 1+ year of experience programming with Python (& the desire to work in an environment that uses Python!)
  • Experience working with Relational Databases such as Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, and/or Microsoft SQL
  • Experience with RestFul API’s
  • Understanding of CI/CD deployments and how they are built 
  • Familiarity with using Cloud based platforms such as AWS
  • Strong attention to detail, performance and quality, driving for results & continuous improvement 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, Agile environment
  • Strong communication skills to clearly articulate technical development needs, progress, and changes

What’s the vibe like in the office?

Very laidback and welcoming. I am hybrid and work mostly remotely, but will come into the office every couple of weeks. There's always snacks, good chats with other people due to the open floor plan, and places like phone booths to use when you need to dial in and focus. It feels more like a communal working space than an office.
