Position Summary

Avantax Wealth Management, a subsidiary of Blucora and sister company to Avantax Planning Partners and TaxAct is seeking a Software Engineer III that will be responsible for developing key features and capabilities to delight our customers and grow our market share. The selected incumbent must also enjoy working with C# and have experience with the .NET stack to build financial applications. Overall, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to join our software engineering team and work on the next generation of our software applications focused on financial professionals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Major responsibilities of the Software Engineer III position are listed below. To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. • Develops new software applications and performs upgrades and/or fixes to existing operating software applications.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to develop and test software applications.
• Respond to technical requests regarding the assigned application.
• Remain up to date with the latest software and computer technology.
• Works as a member of a software engineering scrum team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent in education and business experience.
• Experience with C# is a must.
• Experience with Microsoft development stack and development lifecycle tooling (C#, ASP.Net Core, .Net Core, MVC/Web API/WCF, SQL Server, Django, Visual Studio, TFS, Git) is a must.
• Experience with JavaScript, Vue.js, Typescript, HTML, and CSS.
• SQL experience (SQL and SSIS)
• no-SQL (preferably MongoDB) experience
• Experience with AWS is good to have.
• Experience writing Unit tests.
• Experience with CI/CD automation pipeline tools and best practices.
• Experience in Agile development methodologies preferred.
• Minimum of 6+ years' software application development experience.
• US citizen or Green Card holders only.
