Department OverviewThe RDE-RadioOnline team focuses on purpose-built design tools used by Motorola System Engineers in the creation of public safety systems.
Position is available for a self-motivated, advanced problem solver that has a desire to work on a wide range of products, applications, and services in a DevOps environment. The position will work with developers across multiple development sites to deliver high quality system design tools.
Job Description
Overview:
As a software engineer on this team, you will be a key contributor on purpose-built design tool development activities that support our Motorola Field Engineers. You will be working on a results-oriented team that leverages cutting-edge technologies and techniques. The right individual will be motivated and will have a passion for software development, deployment processes and enabling innovation.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency and Professional Experience with WebServices, C#, Javascript & SQL
- Experience in building and consuming REST web service APIs in a microservices architecture
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices
- Experience writing SQL queries and connecting to database backends
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong collaboration skills
Desired Skills:
- Strong understanding of Javascript language principles, its modern use, and application to web development
- Broad understanding of DevOps Tools including source control, continuous integrations, Infrastructure automation, deployment automation and orchestration (Tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, Ansible, Kubernetes, OpenShift or similar toolsets)
- Relational database design and queries such as Postgres, MySQL or similar
- Python application development on Windows and Linux

Basic Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 3+ years of software development experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
