Sinclair Broadcast Group seeks a motivated and experienced Systems Engineer to join the Corporate Information Technology Department. The individual will develop, integrate and support key Enterprise infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance on Systems Engineering projects
  • Support Systems Engineering projects and provide required technical expertise to diverse stakeholder groups based on business requirements
  • Collaborate with other teams and third-party vendors to define best-in-class solutions
  • Configuration, management, and maintenance of VMware, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, and Storage systems - including physical and virtual servers, HPE Nimble, NetApp, and Dell/EMC
  • Performs installation, configuration, maintenance, debugging and support for Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
  • Support and participate in the development of architecture designs for enterprise-wide systems infrastructure environments
  • Proactively monitor KPIs and address areas of improvement for systems infrastructure
  • Drive efficiencies through process automation and Infrastructure as Code frameworks


Experience, Skills & Competencies:

  • Immediate authorization to work in the US
  • 5+ years relevant systems analysis/support experience
  • 5+ years of experience directly administering and supporting Microsoft Window Server
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, MFA, Group Policy, NTFS and DFS
  • Advanced knowledge of networking protocols TCP/IP, VoIP, DNS and DHCP
  • 5+ years of experience with both iSCSI and Fiber Channel Storage Area Networks
  • Understanding of industry best practices surrounding proper maintenance and support of a 24x7 server infrastructure
  • 5+ years of production experience with ESXi 6.x or higher to include VMware vCenter, vRealize, supporting multiple operating systems and applications to include SQL server, Windows server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting practices at OS and network layers of the stack
  • 5+ years of experience directly administering Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop
  • 5+ years of production experience with VMware enterprise features (DRS, HA, vMotion, SRM, Update Manager)
  • 4+ years of production experience with VMware vSAN
  • 5+ years of experience with scripting and automation - PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Python, JSON, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience with security/vulnerability patching of VMware/vSphere hosts and Virtual machines, including deployment and process documentation with VMware Update Manager
  • Proficient in VMware performance, capacity planning, monitoring, virtualization analysis, and consolidation activities
  • Experience with storage configuration and management: HPE Nimble Storage, NetApp, EMC Isilon
  • Physical capability to install/de-install server equipment in a data center environment
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical issues and offer solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outgoing and enthusiastic personality
  • Professional business demeanor
  • Customer-focused attitude and desire to interface directly with end-user clients
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or a related field or equivalent work experience
