Senior Splunk Engineer
Our Opportunity:
Chewy’s IT Systems Intelligence Team supports all things Splunk, which enables our end-users to leverage machine-generated data from across the organization. We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our growing team.
The IT Systems Intelligence team is responsible for supporting the enterprise logging platforms and services that assist teams with discovering innovations, efficiencies, and application issues. We are looking for a Systems Engineer in Dania Beach, FL that has excellent technical skills, has experience building reliable and scalable solutions, and has a strong passion for driving insights with data. Most importantly, we’re looking for a candidate that is deeply passionate about data and looking to grow their career in a fast-growing and fast-paced dynamic environment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to get your hands dirty using cutting-edge technologies, manage and grow our data pipeline, provide top-tier user support, establish and promote best practices, provide platform administration, and advanced report development.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with the team to drive innovative solutions for corporate data collection to enterprise logging platforms
- Hands on experience designing for scalability, reliability, and performance
- Solve complex Splunk administration problems using your knowledge of automation, scripting, DevOps tools, REST APIs, and Splunk Enterprise
- Develop, test, and deploy a variety of Splunk configurations and Splunk technology add-ons
- Manage data onboarding and defining configurations
- Assist with the creation of dashboards, searches, and other knowledge objects in Splunk
- Undertakes day-to-day operational and user support
What You’ll Need:
- Thorough understanding of IT fundamentals to include Windows and Linux operating systems, networking, and cloud system integration
- 3+ years performing Splunk administration and development experience (Splunk Enterprise System and Data Administration, development, CIM compliance, modular inputs, etc.)
- 3+ years of DevOps tools experience (Ansible, Git, Terraform, etc.)
- Passionate about driving insights with machine data and Splunk products
- Preferred knowledge and experience:
- Python development
- Linux administration
- AWS administration
- Position may require travel
Bonus:
- Familiarity with messaging and streaming platforms, such as Apache Pulsar, Apache Nifi, Kafka, etc.
- Experience with tuning systems and hardware for optimal performance
