Hillrom's Care Communications Research & Development teams are passionately creating the next generation of real-time communication systems used inside and outside of the hospital. As we continue to grow, we are seeking experienced, talented, and motivated engineers to join us on our journey to enhance outcomes for patients and their caregivers.

We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer who applies expert and diversified knowledge of engineering principles to develop innovative virtual care and telehealth solutions.

This can position is located in beautiful Cary, North Carolina.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience
• Strong, demonstratable coding skillset in C, C++, C#, Java or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Deep knowledge of real-time communication protocols and technologies: S/SIP, S/RTP, SDP, and WebRTC
• Hands on experience working with real-time streaming platforms: Zoom, Pexip, Teams, FreeSwitch, Vidyo, WebEx or Twilio
• Experience with cloud media infrastructure: load balancers, gateways, SBCs, STUN, TURN
• Experienced designing, developing, testing, and deploying real-time video and audio streaming solutions in the cloud
• Experience with Web and Mobile media capabilities using real-time communication protocols
• A proven track record of addressing real-time steaming challenges including latency, bandwidth, packet loss and call video quality
• Experience with full SDLC tasks: estimations, requirements, development, testing and documentation
• Interest in continuous learning and career progression
• Ability to work in a fast-paced scrum team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
