Senior Software Engineer I (DECIMATE)

Summary:
Our ONR software team employs an Agile Scrum process to rapidly design, code, and integrate capabilities into a mature Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution. Work includes developing and integrating applications that provision and configure loosely coupled systems and capabilities which can be reused, discovered, and linked to build mission threads.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software to automate containerization of applications
- Design and develop software to automate securing/locking-down containers and OpenShift
- Design and develop software to collect system metrics and support dashboard visualizations
- Refine, benchmark, and improve container performance in respect to build speed and runtime execution
- Implement and maintain a DevSecOps pipeline.
- Implement SELinux within a Multi-Level Security environment
- Analyze and correct code defects and assist in the deployment of fixes
- Participate in a highly collaborative team environment, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle using Agile/SCRUM methodologies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline (e.g. Software Engineering, Computer Engineering)
- Six (6+) or more years of professional experience involving Software Design, Development, Test, and Evaluation
- Hands on experience with Object Oriented Programming Languages (Java, C++)
- Ability to obtain US Security Clearance (Interim SECRET or above)
- Ability to work individually and on team projects in an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
- Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems in a RedHat/Microsoft mixed infrastructure environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot networking problems in an on-premise environment as well as in AWS.
- Familiarity with OpenShift, Docker, Hadoop, ArcGIS, OpenAM, and other enterprise in software services.
- Familiarity with DNS, LDAP, MSAD, PKI, and other infrastructure services.
- Experience with Robot Framework
- Experience with Virtual Machines, RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), AWS, and Containers.
- Experience with Scripting and Deployment Languages (Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience with Web-development tools and technologies (e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, REST, Web Services)
- Experience with DevOps pipeline tools and technologies (e.g. Jenkins, Git, ELK, Consul, OpenShift, etc.)
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL, Elastic, DynamoDB, Accumulo)

- Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
- Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.
- Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).
- Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, and may occasionally lift and move at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required.
