Senior Software Engineer, Data Engineering
OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Innovation department.
As a Senior Software Engineer on our Data Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to write code to the standard of Sidecar’s internal best practices, while collaborating with others and owning multiple systems and operational tools.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of production experience with Go, Python, or JavaScript
- Experience building and deploying RESTful API’s
- 2+ years experience working with Relational Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift)
- 2+ years experience with ETL processes
- Experience in a Docker based environment
- Strong knowledge of database design
BONUS:
- Production experience with building GraphQL APIs
- Experience working with Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of microservice architecture
- Experience working with and manipulating product feeds
- Experience with large data sets and managing data lakes

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
- Lead projects to deliver new features and updates to existing data products.
- Present innovative ideas and concepts to the team, and advocate for your methods.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for more junior members of the team
- Work on data governance, ensuring the data we store is accurate and necessary.
- Maintain data pipelines for product feeds, advertising metrics, and more.
- Advocate for and help improve Sidecar's standards for coding, testing, and documentation
- Improve on our existing features and help maintain scalable, stable, and sustainable codebases
- Successfully deliver features that meets company, product, and team goals and standards
