OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Innovation department.

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Channel Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to use and grow your skills to deliver new functionality and improve our existing systems with a cross-functional, agile team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4+ years of production experience with Go or JavaScript
  • Experience building and deploying RESTful API’s
  • Experience working with Relational Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience in a Docker based environment
  • Extensive experience with Git as a VCS
  • First-hand experience in an agile environment

BONUS:

  • 2+ years of production experience using TypeScript
  • Firsthand use of React in production
  • Production experience with building GraphQL API's
  • Experience in a Docker + Kubernetes environment
  • Working knowledge of microservice architecture

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

  • Develop, lead, and deliver new features of Sidecar's technology as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Advocate for and help improve Sidecar's standards for design, coding, testing, and documentation
  • Help lead development of a full-stack project with strong focuses on ease of use, scalability, and stability.
  • Collaborate with your squad and lead technical discussions to find solutions to business and engineering problems
  • Identify what skills you want to build or areas you want to explore and work with your manager to expand on them.
  • Ensure code quality by building appropriate unit and integration test coverage for your work
  • Improve code maintainability by actively documenting your work - in code and in tickets
  • Perform code reviews to provide quality input and build up your peer's understanding of Sidecar and our best practices
  • Submit code reviews for all work to be reviewed by peers or code authors and make adjustments or changes based on feedback.
