Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG), located in Urbandale, IA, you will be responsible for the reliability, resiliency, and security of John Deere's precision agriculture data platform.
- Develops creative solutions for resiliency, reliability, and security for our applications and components.
- Lead in the solution of complex problems and act as technical advisor for the product and SRE teams.
- Evaluate and implement enhancement design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance of software applications.
- Collaborate with other site reliability engineers and product team members to ensure that features meet business needs.
What Skills You Need
- 5 or more years of experience in DevOps practices.
- Experience with the JDLink, Terminals, and Equipment Manager ISG applications and infrastructure.
- Proven experience in developing applications using AWS services (RDS, EC2, S3, SQS, EMR, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability with Drone, Jenkins, or CI/CD tools.
- 4 years of experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience in managing production Incidents with varying degrees of complexity and difficulty.
- Experience developing with Java, JavaScript or Python.
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering
Skills, Abilities, Knowledge
Ability to analyze, translate, and define business requirements into technical solutions.
Excellence in verbal and written communication forms with emphasis on persuasive communication, tact and negotiation.
Ability to apply engineering principles and concepts for designs.
Ability to manage many competing priorities/requests in a fast-paced environment
