Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) is hiring for an SeniorQuality Engineer to support the Program Quality activities within the Quality and Operations Team, You will be part of our passionate and highly motivated Quality and Operations team, geographically located in Huntington Beach, CA; Puget Sound, WA; St. Louis, MO; or Huntsville, AL. BR&T delivers engineering and technology capabilities to meet business needs across the enterprise.
The Senior Quality Engineer will be assigned to provide Program Quality leadership for reviews of complex proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements ensuring early quality involvement in program development.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops Quality budget and cost estimates for proposal activities
  • Leads the integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements
  • Advises multi-function groups on development of processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed
  • Develops quality program planning, metrics, design and production certification plans for to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities
  • Supports BR&T audits plans and schedules
  • Coordinates analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
  • Trains and advises senior management on preparation for third party audits
  • Conducts Quality risk analysis to determine audit focus areas
  • Supports material review board dispositions for non-conformance
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformance
  • Consults in high level reviews of corrective actions to assure that trends or systemic issues are identified and advises on development and implementation of preventive or corrective actions
  • Works under consultative direction


This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Management System (QMS)
  • 5+ years of experience in statistical data analysis with statistical software
  • 3+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • 1+ years of experience with Quality Engineering or Test Engineering
  • Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
  • Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications
  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
  • Experience with program management and proposal development
  • Experience applying audit standards, procedures, and techniques
  • Experience with process specification development


Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
