Overview /

At Numerated, we know that Information Technology and Information Security are inextricably linked. Our IT and infosec teams work together every day, and IT and infosec projects involve both teams as needed. To enhance that collaboration, we are looking for a senior engineer with feet firmly planted on both sides of the IT/infosec line.

Are you a tech polyglot who is as much at home building out a new employee’s laptop as you are advising web developers about security best practices? Do you like to work on different things every day? Do you want to leverage all of your tech skills rather than working in a silo? If so, then we’d love to hear from you!

Here’s some of what you’ll work on when you join us:

  • Providing frontline IT support for employees and contractors
  • Administering our corporate SaaS apps, e.g., Google Workspace, Zoom, Github, many others
  • Evaluating, selecting, and deploying new SaaS apps
  • IT onboarding and offboarding
  • Providing expert infosec advice to all segments of the company
  • Building and maintaining off-the-shelf infosec infrastructure, e.g., access management (JumpCloud), multi-factor authentication (Duo, Yubico), anti-malware (Crowdstrike Falcon)
  • Building and maintaining custom infosec infrastructure, e.g., scripts to integrate different tools and automate monitoring and maintenance tasks
  • Managing recurring IT and infosec activities such as access reviews, application penetration tests, vulnerability scans, and compliance audits
  • Triaging and mitigating vulnerabilities in our IT infrastructure and product platform
  • Reviewing and documenting vendors’ security posture as part of our vendor selection and retention process
  • Helping to manage our bug bounty program
  • Responding to infosec due diligence requests from prospective and current customers
  • Identifying infosec and IT pain points and proposing and implementing solutions

Perhaps nearly as important, here’s some of what you won’t work on:

  • Our laptops are all Macs and our product platform servers are all Linux, so you won’t be dealing with Windows or Active Directory
  • We’re a cloud-native company, so there’s no “corporate LAN” or machine room to maintain
  • We’re a next-generation financial services software company, so think Python, not COBOL
  • You won’t be supporting the end users of our products; we’ve got a separate, dedicated team for that, and they’re excellent at it!

We believe the right person for this role will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience with the kinds of work described above
  • Enthusiastic interest in continuing to do those kinds of work
  • Substantial experience with macOS
  • Substantial scripting experience, preferably in Python
  • Substantial applicable information security experience
  • A preference for working in fast-moving, start-up environments
  • A passion for fully documenting your work
