Senior Infrastructure Engineer, LAN Connectivity SME
Job Description
As a member of the LAN Connectivity team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and ensuring that our company's best practices and methodologies are applied to the design, deployment and operations of LAN Network including Manufacturing. In addition to Cisco IOS experience, the candidate must possess strong to advanced knowledge of routing and switching, and network automation. The candidate will be responsible to provide technical guidance and leadership to partner teams to drive solutions. The candidate will be the technical point of contact for the customer and provide design, migration and deployment guidance. The operations activities include troubleshooting performance issues and performing break-fix network changes. The candidate should have experience with and a strong knowledge of Incident, Problem and Change management processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create Low Level Design, High Level Design, Implementation Plan, and Acceptance Test Plan documents in accordance with company standards.
- Create, update and publish our company's standards to ensure network meets business and compliance needs .
- Perform installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of company managed hardware, software and peripheral devices.
- Provide Technical leadership and guidance to junior personnel.
- Own platform life-cycle management.
- Research, architect, and introduce Next Generation Network Solutions based on industry trends.
- Provide Tier-3 expert support of our company's Network.
- On-call rotation during business hours including weekends.
Required Experience and Skills
Education Minimum Requirement:
- MSc Degree or BSc Degree or equivalent with relevant experience in Engineering or Computer Science
Required Experience and Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document solutions, present ideas to cross-functional teams, and explain operational issue background and root cause to vendors and senior leaders.
- 7 years experience working with large scale networks.
- A solid understanding of what comprises a scalable, robust, supportable design.
- A belief that standardization and automation is the path to happiness .
- Experience working in a large geographically dispersed network environment.
- Deep knowledge and expertise with Cisco Routing, Switching and Wireless platforms.
- Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages, DevOps tools, and markup languages (e.g. Python, GitHub, Confluence, XML/JSON/YAML, etc.)
- Ability to continually acquire new skills.
- Ability to accomplish objectives while working collectively with the Global team, IT divisional teams, country IT departments and business teams.
- Demonstrates both tactical as well as strategic thinking and creative problem solving.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Deep knowledge of Network Automation solutions.
- Juniper or Arista experience is a plus.
- Industry recognized certifications such as Cisco CCIE.
