Job Summary

Amentum is currently seeking a REMOTE Application Engineer - Ruby on Rails to support an IT Managed Services program for Sandia National Laboratories, Department of Energy. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations, for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems for National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS).

In this role, you will work with a team developing and/or maintaining web-based applications using tools such as Ruby on Rails or Java. You will be asked to prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation; enhance applications to improve performance and add functionality; and provide technical direction to engineers to ensure program deadlines are met. To be successful in this role, you will need at least one year of experience in Linux environments, relational database, experience in HTML, CSS, Javascript, Data Structures, and Algorithms.

As a member of the team, you will:

• Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
• Translate detailed design into application system.
• Test, debug, and refine applications to produce the required product.

Minimum Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required; must not possess dual citizenship with any other country other than the United States.
• Must have a Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of experience OR an Associates Degree and 5 years of experience OR High School Diploma / GED and 9 years of experience.
• Must be able to obtain a TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q clearance and maintain it for the life of the contract.
• 1 year of experience working in full stack application development.
• 1 year of experience developing web-based applications using Ruby on Rails.
• Experience using Agile development methodologies.
• Effective oral and written communications skills along with a strong customer service commitment.
• Familiar with information security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating front end and back-end APIs to allow agnostic use of other front-end frameworks.
• Experience with Rails testing frameworks such as Rspec and Git.
