Reliability Engineer will provide support services for their respective business including Asset Criticality Analysis, Asset Strategy Development, Failure Prediction using statistical methods, and other technical engineering support as needed. They will provide in-house consulting activities to advise and council personnel on a variety of complicated processes/procedures supported by detailed calculations and guided by cost effective decisions and recommendations. This role serves as a key leader in the local implementation of Asset Performance Management (APM) and Work Management (WM) softwares (GE APM and SAP).

The Reliability Engineer utilizes reliability analysis methods for determining the reliability of components, equipment, processes, and people and makes recommendations concerning improvement.

Reliability Engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1) Perform risk assessments, dependability analysis, and evaluate asset strategy efficiency and effectiveness by utilizing FMEA and RCM

2) Conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the reliability required for the situation considering the cost limitations for equipment up/down time, repair/replacement costs, weight, size, and availability by acquiring and analyzing data, as well as preparing diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports for defining reliability problems and making recommendations for improvements.

3) Determines the cost advantages of alternatives for developing action plans to comply with internal/external customer demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid failures.

4) Develop operator and maintenance rounds and train personnel on execution.

5) Create Dashboards and policies in GE APM, EtaPRO, and/or SAS

6) Facilitate RCAs on an as needed basis based on company standards.

7) Leads implementation locally of AM and WM programs and softwares and train and develop plant staff in AES Global processes, standards, and procedures.

8) Provide renewables and generating station operations & maintenance support by adequately responding to operational & maintenance support requests in a timely and cooperative manner and actively participating in technical working groups as assigned.

9) Accepts short term assignments at other AES facilities.
10) Communication of results both written and oral to all levels of management (reporting and presenting).

11) Utilize Management of Change for controlling modification to equipment, systems, and processes.

12) Stay abreast of maintenance and reliability industry trends and best practices.
13) Serves as a representative of the Company and an advocate for workforce safety best practices.

14) Assist the company in defining reliability goals aligned with business needs.

As a Reliability Engineer, you will be a key member of process improvement and problem-solving teams and will be required to support our thermal and renewable operations with a focus on equipment & process reliability.

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level of experience
- Experience in Thermal and Renewable Electric Utility and Power Generation.

- Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Suite required, SAS, SAP and GE APM experience helpful.

- Strong background in Reliability Centered Maintenance Practices.

- Maintenance and Reliability Professional Certification (CMRP) desirable.

- Experience in project management with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Strong communicator both oral and written.
- Strong platform or public speaking skills for making presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others as well as operate
with a minimum of supervision.
