We're looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager

We are a dynamic team of technologists building products for a fast-growing company that is dedicated to building meaningful tech communities. As an experienced leader of our QA team, we foremost look for talented people who are passionate towards solving business problems through innovation and best engineering and QA practices. You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise for developing and improving the perceived and measurable quality of software products through automated testing. 

You will engage across various aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on ensuring best quality code. You are focused on ensuring a perfect customer and user experience by keeping the software quality top-of-mind during all testing phases. You need to be aware of any quality assurance issues that arise with any of our products and will become a product expert. You will work with cross-functional customer facing departments and technology teams to deliver tested products to our customers.

This position requires the ability to work effectively under pressure to identify problems in a timely manner, along with the ability to work within a dynamic team environment. 

How you’ll contribute

  • Lead, mentor, and hire a team of QA engineers 
  • Participate in the Agile(Scrum) team process, perform required standard testing activities keeping the customer experience top of mind during the testing process.
  • Build and manage test automation frameworks and configure different environments 
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams and Product Managers to build quality into product from the beginning.
  • Own the execution, reporting and integration into CI/CD of automated tests
  • Be a key person and advocate for all things quality engineering across the company
  • Collect and present testing metrics for the projects to stakeholders and senior management
  • Report status of assigned deliverables and any potential risks to the projects
What you need
  • 7+ years of industry experience as a QE Engineer, SDET or Software Engineer with 3 years as QE Lead/Manager.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in establishing and implementing QA processes and strategies
  • Hands-on experience with front and back end testing, performance and mobile testing (e.g. PlayWright, Cypress, Appium etc) required.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one programming language like Go, Python, PHP, Ruby, JavaScript, TypeScript or C#.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skillsOversee hiring and onboarding for new QA team members
  • Ability to motivate a team and bring out the best in each team member while working on several projects under pressure and tight timelines.

What does your typical day look like?

My days start with a quick team sync in the morning. There are usually some calls scheduled with others to collaborate on the CI/CD pipelines or another project. My time is split between management work and implementation work. It’s so encouraging when everybody is willing to pair to sort out a problem or get on a quick call to provide context.
