WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The QA Engineer will be responsible for helping provide quality assurance and application testing for the Company's web based applications. You'll work closely with all members of our talented Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to ensure functional and business logic meet the agreed upon project requirements. You will become an integral part of our diverse team and will work to enhance the quality of the product delivery throughout the development lifecycle. This role will report into the Software Engineering organization.

This position will focus on collaborating with both internal remote employees as well as offshore remote teams over manual and automated testing of customer facing applications from end to end within an Agile and DevOps environment.

This includes creating and maintaining feature testing plans, manual test cases, running those tests, tracking the results, and ensuring defects are tracked and fixes verified. The QA team is also involved with release acceptance criteria, identifying opportunities to improve product robustness, code testing coverage, and even things like productivity and process improvements. product robustness.

You will work closely with the Project team to advocate quality in the software development lifecycle; analyze product and technical user stories, as well as, requirements and functional and non-functional design specifications and perform manual testing. You will develop and execute test cases across a variety of browsers and operating systems. 

This position requires a self‐motivated, dedicated, focused, detailed, and methodical individual to combine the hands‐on process knowledge of the QA function within the project lifecycle methodology. You must have solid knowledge of software development environments and tools, as well as a passion for testing and a commitment to quality.

 WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Analyze business documentation and technical specifications for all applications under development or consideration, to determine its intended functionality to assist in testing.

  • Work closely with Business, Project Managers, Development and Software Engineering team members to understand the system flows, processes, and back end architecture.

  • Design, document, and execute manual test cases to verify our software works as intended.

  • Discover and document product defects and track them through their lifecycle to validate the fixes.

  • Perform exploratory testing to identify opportunities to build our confidence in releasing our software products.

  • Participate in the agile development process and be an integral part of a development team.

  • Perform regression testing.

  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools is desirable, though not required. Cypress experience a major plus.

  • Experience testing and working in test driven development, continuous delivery (CICD) DevOPS pipeline (Preferably in GCP).

  • Deep understanding and application of Agile approaches and techniques, such as Scrum, User Stories, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Manual/Automated Testing, and supporting feature development through active participation in an Agile team.

  • Collaborate with product teams to strategize & align long term solutions for test including roadmap, tools, framework & approach.

  • Recommend techniques and methodologies needed to enhance productivity and quality.

  • Contributing to the successful completion of work you're doing on time and within budget.

  • Performing root cause analysis and helping solve technical issues.

  • Interacting and communicating with technical and non-technical audiences which includes offshore and onshore remote teams.

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED? 

Qualified candidates have extensive experience with QA as a whole and manual/black box testing specifically. Test Automation experience is a nice plus. You have generated many test cases using TestRail or other tool sets. You look at requirements for a new feature and you quickly can see edge cases that need to be tested. Intellectual curiosity is one of your strong suits as is attention to detail. You truly enjoy working in a collaborative environment and are passionate about delivering high quality products.

WHAT EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS DO I NEED?

A successful candidate will have strong QA and Engineering development and implementation experience for scalable products and be self-motivated with demonstrated commitment to building world class products.

  • 3 years of Manual/Black Box Testing experience on large-scale projects.

  • Experience collaborating closely with product and engineering team throughout agile development process from product definition to post-release validation.

  • Experience working closely with automation engineers to ensure our auto-tests give us reliable coverage.

  • Provide ongoing maintenance of all the test plans, adapting to quick development cycles and constantly updating them to include customer feedback and new use cases.

  • Work alongside other QA Engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.

  • TestRail, JIRA, and Confluence experience desired.

  • Possesses robust analytical thinking skills with the ability to identify, debug, and resolve technical issues.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Able to work with business partners as well as internal and external technical teams including working with remote and offshore teams.

  • Can articulate business requirements and objectives and translate those into test plans.

  • Grasps new technologies and can adapt to rapid shifts in priorities as new tools are introduced.

  • Building and maintaining reports and dashboards and communicating results to team members.

  • Strong Experience in analyzing product and technical user stories, as well as, requirements and functional and non-functional design specifications and creating test cases, manual tests, and potentially automated tests.

  • Analyze formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.

  • Review test environment change requests and implementation plans to minimize chances of negative impact to QA environments and projects in testing.
