The Network Technology Group works on a series of platforms spanning Spectrum to achieve various business goals .
BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
As a Principal Cloud Automation Engineer, you'll be responsible for engineering activities that maintain and enhance Spectrum's telecommunications and signal processing hardware, software and electrical systems. You will work closely with technical operations staff on system design and configuration. You will be r esponsible for automation architecture and engineering for various cloud technologies, and recommends cloud infrastructure solutions. Responsible for setting up artifacts pipeline automation between engineering and Operations and standardizing it across the organization. Works with various automation tools to automate the deployment of Infrastructure in a public or private cloud. Works with various configuration management tools to manage a consistent state for Infrastructure. Interfaces with other teams to collect and define project requirements for automating and deploying their application or technology stack. Bridge the gap between various different organizations within Charter by leveraging automation tooling and concepts (IAE, Ops, IT, etc.).

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- 10-15 years of engineering work experience.
- 10-15 years of project management work experience.
- Education:
- Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience.
- Technical skills:
- Advanced knowledge in cloud technologies private and public
Experience with Object Oriented concepts and languages (Java, Golang, Rust, C#, C++)
Advanced knowledge in Modeling data/network/info modeling (e.g. Json, Yaml)
Advanced knowledge in designing and implementing a distributed artifacts pipeline between engineering and Operations.
Experience with Infrastructure As Code (e.g. Terraform, Cloud Formations, etc..)
Experience with Scripting languages (e.g. Ansible, Bash, Python, etc..)
Experience with API development and integration
Experience with Linux (e.g. RHEL, Centos, Ubuntu)
Experience with CI/CD (Git, Gitlab, Jenkins)
Experience with Lifecycle Management of Artifacts (e.g. Artifactory)
Experience with automation technologies
Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace agile environment and ability to learn new technologies quickly
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
Experience or knowledge with Orchestration/Workflow is a plus
Virtualization and Containerization knowledge is a plus
Experience with Databases is a plus
Ideally someone between a Senior DevOps Engineer and a Software Engineer - Advanced knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology.
- Advanced knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model.
- Advanced knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
- Advanced knowledge of network devices and basic network appliances
- Advanced knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio .
- Advanced knowledge in cloud technologies private and public
- Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of business users in a professional manner.
- Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly.
- Ability to use personal computer and software applications.

- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
