Belcan has a current opening for an Order Engineer in Raleigh NC for one of our key clients. The Order Engineer will be responsible for processing and supporting production of Nuclear and Commercial customer valve and part orders for industries including Power Generation, Oil and Gas, Petrochemical and Refineries. The individual must possess a strong technical background/education to adequately address the complexity of valve orders, design changes, and production issues with a passion to exceed customer expectations and meet contract delivery requirements.

Responsibilities:
Take ownership of all orders assigned from valve selection/quotation/design through shipment and customer support. This includes specification review, creation of design/seismic and other engineering reports, providing critical input for bills of material, Quality Assurance Plans, and drawings, creating testing and other miscellaneous procedures, dealing with production challenges, and interfacing with customers as needed.

Provide hands-on and technical engineering support to production and manufacturing in a large scale manufacturing shop.

Research and accurately create bill of materials and quality plans/manufacturing requirements for product brands.

Generate Nuclear design and seismic reports in accordance with ASME Section III or VIII.
Evaluate customer return orders for replacement or repair of material supplied and generate repair plans with recommendations to manufacture and return goods to customer.

Operate with integrity, efficiency, and creativity in determining acceptable conditions of nonconformances found during the process of manufacturing or determine path forward for rework of nonconformances.

Support Field Service Team and Customer Support team by being technical expert on problem resolution of valve orders and customer site issues.

Fully support the achievement of the annual financial and operational goals of Raleigh"s operations.
Responsible for plant wide continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and cost reduction initiatives by contributing to an active CIP/lean program within the engineering department.

Willingness to provide cross-functional support for all departments including Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Planning, Customer Support Representatives, Project Management and Commercial Operations.

Requirements:

Bachelor"s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent engineering discipline from an accredited university required.

Must have a high sense of urgency to plan and execute order requirements to meet shipment schedule as well as deal with ongoing shop floor issues, customer issues, and documentation creation.

Interpersonal skills are critical for optimum communication with cross-functional departments as well as internal and external customers.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office package including spreadsheet, database management, and presentation software

Aptitude for mechanical and analytical work, with the ability to analyze situations and make sound recommendations.

Technical writing skills and an ability to produce professional engineering reports and presentations in keeping with company policies and objectives.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience:
FE/EIT certification preferred but not required.

Familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD systems; SolidWorks and ANSYS preferred but not required

1+ years of experience in engineered manufacturing environment and/or industrial test lab required

Excel Macro/ Visual Basic script creation and/or editing is a plus.

Working knowledge of nuclear industry requirements including ASME Sections II, III, and VIII; 10 CFR
50 Appendix B; and NQA-1 is preferred.

Sizing and operating experience with electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and hydraulic actuation systems knowledge is a plus.
