MITRE's Cyber Effects and Information Warfare Department is currently seeking to grow our team with highly talented engineers, specifically those with demonstrated experience and proficient in some of these disciplines: offensive Cyber tool development, reverse engineering, vulnerability research, Cyber/EW convergence, offensive Cyber tradecraft, and/or Cyber denial and deception. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to architect and implement technical solutions for a wide range of challenges currently faced by our government sponsors.

We are seeking strong technical candidates with a computer science or software engineering background to join a team that supports critical government cyber requirements to research, develop and guide development teams focused on investigating new technologies and building cyber related effects. Responsibilities encompass working with system engineers to define requirements, develop system architectures, develop interface control documents and application programming interfaces to specify how systems developed in parallel efforts will integrate into a system-of-systems solution. Lead multidisciplinary design teams through system development including integration, system testing, and field testing in a variety of environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.



Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. (or higher) in Computer Science or Software Engineering and 8+ years of related experience
  • Familiarity with ARM platforms such as Android and/or iOS
  • Familiarity with network forensics,pcapanalysis
  • Familiarity with reverse engineering obfuscated or binary files
  • Knowledge of software vulnerabilities and exploitation
  • Must have demonstratedproficiency and strength inverbal,written, PC, presentation, andcommunicationsskills
  • Experience in assessing performance of systems and architectures against current requirements to identify gaps and prototype innovative solutions
  • Familiarity with one or more environments/sponsors operating in the offensive domain
  • Familiarity with operational Cyber concepts and objectives
  • Familiar with DoD Acquisition Instructions and Procedures
  • Ability to work independently to learn new technologies, languages, platforms, etc.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring staff members to achieve demonstrable impact.
  • Demonstrated application of cyber threat intelligence, and how to study and model threats.
  • Candidate must possess an active Top Secret clearance. with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearanc



Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to explain complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Develop technical white papers/briefings
  • Proven ability to write technical reports detailing analytical work, including assumptions, objectives, explanation of analytical techniques/tools, sources of data, results, conclusions, and recommendations relating to context of the analysis.
  • Familiarity with mobile app programming languages and scripting tools. (e.g., Java, Objective-C, Swift, Python, C, C++, Go)
  • Familiarity with RF concepts
  • Possess an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
