At our IT team, we are committed to the manufacturing division goal of being the most trusted supplier of pharmaceuticals and health products worldwide. In support of that goal, we are advancing Digital Shop Floor technologies, collaboration, and leadership across the organization. In the area of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) our Company has a standard solution that is deployed globally across our diverse vaccine, biologics and small molecule manufacturing arenas. We are expanding the Digital Shop Floor Platform Organization to include this role with focus on MES technology, architecture, business architecture, lifecycle support, and value realization.
This role will work within the MES Center of Excellence to provide technical guidance, lead sub teams, implement proof of concepts, and consult in all aspects of MES. This role will also include supporting site operational MES teams in their day to day challenges of operating mes for all aspects of lifecycle management. Finally, this role will progress maturity of our Company MES solution through strategic efforts, including:
- Deployment excellence with nimble adaptation to new versions of application and infrastructure
- MS&O - reduce/eliminate planned downtimes
- Core Build - Our Company next generation MES, with zero application customization
- SAP interface - Next generation interface to new MES and SAP versions
- Integration - deliver business value and data integrity compliance through integration to Automation & instrumentation
- Data and Analytics - provide user friendly solutions to meet data demands
This role involves substantial collaboration with groups outside of the MES CoE - business, IT technical & infrastructure, other engineering groups, Koerber, and solution partners. The cross functional teams will deliver high operational efficiency to this key asset.
This technical leadership role will focus primarily on the Pas-x Manufacturing Execution System used in the production of key our Company products in all three areas of our Company Manufacturing: Biological/Sterile, Pharmaceutical, Chemical
The technology leader must also understand the business needs of our Manufacturing Division and stay abreast of new technologies to make recommendations for business improvements.

Ability to become influential in his/her area demonstrated by suitable technical degrees and/or experience.
Ability to work with business customers in a highly dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
- 5 + years of working experience with MES in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior working experience with PAS-X or other MES applications.
- Prior working experience with solution delivery, system configuration, and strong familiarity with the system architecture.
- Prior working experience in pharmaceutical, biological or bulk-manufacturing facilities.
- Familiar with the application of GMP validation lifecycle.
- Good communication skills.
Education Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree (Engineering/Computer Science is preferred)
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Other information technology experiences a plus, especially in the areas of infrastructure, virtualization, thin clients, and windows server.
- Prior working experience with business architects to deliver the proper technical solutions to the business.
- Focus on customer value including - effective use of MES to meet business requirements, compliance, system availability, disaster recovery, total cost of ownership
- Capability to articulate master batch record (MBR) development best practices, equipment management, external system interfaces, instrument integration
Position will require on the average 10% travel globally.
