Maritime Undersea Lead Embedded Software Engineer (Autonomous Systems)Company:The Boeing CompanyJob ID:00000277571Date Posted:2021-12-02-08:00Location:USA - Herndon, VA, USA - Huntington Beach, CAJob Description Qualifications: The Boeing Company's Maritime Undersea Organization is seeking a Lead Embedded Software Engineer (Virtual) to support a number of programs located in either Herndon, VA or Huntington Beach, CA.The talented, self-motivated Lead Embedded Software Engineer will participate in the development of future mission systems technologies in the areas of avionics, autonomy, human-systems interfaces and sensor processing. Current areas of focus are advanced mission systems processing, unmanned autonomous vehicle operation, sensor and image processing, small form factor computing and crew station/operator environments. Must be able to take vague requirements and quickly translate them into embedded system solutions by team collaborations with customers. The project will focus on a mixture of new development integrated with legacy capability to provide significant new capability(s) in a short time frame.Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform software engineering across the entire software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, software design, development, and test
  • Identify, Perform and Review design decisions, trade studies, architecture improvements
  • Champion relentless product and process improvements within the organization
  • Coordinate with other integrated product teams (IPTs) to solve technical code and program issues and control configurations
  • Collaborate with multiple teams within a Scaled Agile™ software environment
  • Foster a culture of common workflow and capability development across programs and feature teams

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in Herndon, VA or Huntington Beach, CA.Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain a Secret US Security clearance Post-Start.Basic Qualifications,

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearances, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (Post Start)
  • 8+ years' experience in embedded real-time software development
  • 8+ years of experience in C++
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
  • Experience with interface design and control within a Model-Based Systems Engineering Environment
  • Experience in Python and development on Linux
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as VxWorks, Green Hills, or Lynxos

Typical Education/Experience: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's Degree,14 or more years' experience; Master's Degree, with 12 or more years' experience; or PhD, with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, master or doctorate of science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.
