The hiring range for this position is $156,620 to $241,670 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

WHAT TO BRING
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience crafting large-scale, highly available Java services utilizing various database and messaging technologies.
- Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language, and a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, databases, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Experience using source control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
- An ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Champion cross-team projects.
- Coach and mentor other specialists on the team to ensure that all software utilizes Disney and industry best practices for data persistence.
- Collaborate efficiently with product management, technical program management, operations, and other engineering teams to capture requirements, drive implementation, and provide transparency.
- A broad perspective on problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to share your knowledge with team members and others at Disney.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience deploying and scaling within a cloud infrastructure.
- Experience directly managing and mentoring a team.
- Provide input for stakeholders and decision makers in architecture, roadmap, and product.
- Communicate architecture, roadmap, and product objectives to engineers and gather feedback for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to establish priorities
- Provide priority and roadmap guidance to engineers and project managers through regular sprint planning and daily check-ins
- Assume the role of stakeholder for the project road map(s) along with product and project managers
Responsibilities:
- Work with individual engineers to map out career growth and goals.

- Create an environment of trust for people to be themselves and able to excel

- Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to generate and prioritize roadmaps.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years experience in software engineering with a significant portion as a programmer and/or technical leader. Experience as a manager of software engineers.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
- Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language, and a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, databases, etc.)
- Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills.
- Strong discipline to delegate work and focus on solving management problems.
- Comfortable driving complex and high profile projects without overextending personal health or well-being of your team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with consumer facing services and high-scale systems.
- Understanding of deploying and scaling within a cloud infrastructure.
- Experience working with remote global teams and a flexible schedule to meet in different time zones.
