As a Software Engineering Manager you will build out a team and technically lead the road-map of V-BAT Commander, software that allows operators to plan missions, command and control a V-BAT UAS. You will work closely with talented engineers to define future generations of Shield AI products by executing new programs and helping to solve the hard problems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a variety of different engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, software and AI engineering, to establish system level architectures and secure systems. You will lead cross-functional product development activities creating delightful user experiences for operating Hivemind enabled platforms. 

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will:

• Serve as the functional team lead for the V-BAT Commander team; Grow the team.
• Develop an excellent technical products for V-BAT Mission Planning, Operator training and Command and Control
• Make software development faster, and our products more capable and reliable through design and implementation of the right tools, processes, and architectures.
• Partner with the Android team to align technology visions across desktop and Android applications
• Define and enforce modern software design practices. 
• Manage product architecture, ICD and other system level design documentation 
• Develop and implement a rigorous test plan for the V-BAT Commander product 

As a Software Engineering Manager on the team, you will also be responsible for:

• Aligning technical approaches with long-term roadmaps 
• Aligning interfaces in the Hivemind Commander team with other teams 
• Building out systems architectures and infrastructureas needed to support development efforts 
• Other duties as assigned 

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, or equivalent engineering roles 
• 3+ years of people leadership experience 
• B.S. or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field 
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• You are organized and methodical 
• You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others 

Preferred qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience developing complex web applications 
• 5+ years of experience developing highly interactive and visualization rich applications and/or games 
• 3+ years of experience with autonomous systems

Salary Range: $194,000- $257,000 Annually + Bonus + Benefits + Equity (if applicable)
