Description

Seeking a Senior M365 SME/Administrator who will support the continual operations and improvements of our M365 tenant, including ensuring the effective use of M365 for our customers, and helping the organization follow best practices for M365 and Azure. The administrator will act as the subject matter expert and technical role with comprehensive knowledge of O365, Microsoft 365, and the applications and services available across the Microsoft cloud platform. This includes a detailed knowledge of the introduction and support issues of the cross platform applications available in support of the core offerings of the service.

The M365 SME/Administrator will work with Enterprise Architecture to understand current configurations, policies, and technical components, evaluate strategic approach for deploying services and provide input into M365 service roadmap development. The administrator will also perform day-to-day activities in our M365 environment including operations of a hybrid environment, co-management, directory-sync, and reviewing various alerts and messages concerning changes in the platform and how they will impact the client's operations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Microsoft Office 365 technical subject matter expert to include expert level understanding of Azure, Azure AD, SharePoint Online, Teams, Power BI and other components of the Office and Microsoft 365 services for GCC tenants.
  • Maintains a comprehensive technical understanding of all aspects of Office 365
  • Maintains awareness of O365 roadmap and releases. Review service features and provide recommendations for adding or removing features based on an understanding of customer's environment, requirements and technology roadmaps; present how the different components fit together and affect each other
  • Support Active Directory Federation Services (AFDS), M365 Cloud Connectors, Azure, and integration with Microsoft applications and 3rd Party applications
  • Provide guidance and oversight on report creation and distribution of monthly, weekly and ad-hoc reports on delivery and performance of M365 services
  • Review Azure updates for announcements about product updates; evaluate, make recommendations, and implement updates using Content Delivery Network (CDN) in Azure
  • Provide guidance and support for monitoring Azure Service Health, set-up service health alerts to provide timely notifications to stakeholders of service issues, planned maintenance, and health advisories
  • Provide structure and guidance for internal teams developing M365 Power Shell commands and scripts to support the environment
  • Review customer requirements and provide Data Loss Prevention (DLP) implementation recommendations,
  • Investigate complex issues from a total customer picture (i.e. infrastructure, client device, application, and cloud service)
  • Provide recommendations for content retention, boundary control, and access rights in the client's tenants
  • Provide guidance and oversight on report creation and distribution of monthly, weekly and ad-hoc reports on delivery and performance of M365 services
  • Plan and evaluate tenant license administration to run services; define the deployment process for licenses and administer licenses in the cloud tenants
  • Develop auditing processes for tenant changes and licenses including adding and managing OCC Domains, users, and groups
  • Define processes for managing, tracking, and auditing changes in administrative roles
  • Provide guidance and support for updating password expiration policies, creating and managing cloud-based policies, and creating and managing service requests
  • Work with the service delivery manager to interface with external government agencies in support of projects to further interagency collaboration using the Microsoft 365 services, including tenant host-guest access and federation of tenants; execute changes in support of these initiatives
  • Support Promotion, Management, and full deployment of new services such as One Drive, MS Store etc.
  • Review feature options for services and work with MS fast track to develop implementation plans for new services or features
  • Provide support for developing KBs and training materials for existing and new services/applications
  • Performs day to day activities within the O365 admin portals
  • Provide implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and monitoring support of M365 issues and incidents
  • Support provisioning of devices into O365/Intune
  • Create and deploy policies to protect devices and accounts

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting O365/M365 implementations in large government organizations
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Active Directory (AAD)
  • Experience with OneDrive, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
  • Experience with Exchange services
  • Experience with third party single sign-on and multi-factor authentication
  • Experience with Microsoft EMS, Windows PowerShell
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within groups, and manage multiple activities and/or tasks simultaneously

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Okta SSO, Netskope, Splunk, and/or other cloud security tools
  • Microsoft M365 Certification(s)
  • Microsoft Azure certification(s)


Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
