Linux System Administrator
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Salary: $40-$45/hr W2

Our client is currently seeking a Linux System Administrator (Must be local to SLC, UT)
This job will have the following responsibilities:
-Provide unified production management support for the Unix/Linux infrastructure of the firm, using cutting-edge systems and processes that form the core of our key business.

-They will also adopt various tools developed by Engineering team to automate
- Failures using machine learning techniques, notify discrepancies in the health of production environment and Help in the automation of health-restoration, with a continuous focus on risk and cost.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 5 + years System Administration experience of Hosts in Linux/Unix
- Monitoring tools, commands and utilities
- The schedule is 4 days a week, 10 hours a day schedule. (Non-Traditional schedule)
- Strong understanding of Unix server infrastructure, Unix/Linux-based operating system, commands and utilities, as well as Configuration Management Tools
- Experience supporting DNS/Bind, Samba, TCP/IP, NFS, LDAP, SSH, DHCP, FTP/TFTP - proficient with configuring and supporting LDAP, OpenDJ, Active Directory and Kerberos (needed for the 1 IAM opening, not the 3 Wavefront)
- Understanding of one of the following Scripting languages: Shell script, Perl, JavaScript, KSH, BASH or Python
- Problem solving in a large enterprise Infrastructure support environment, including experience with observing patterns, analyzing root cause and suggesting ideas for resolution
- Pluses: Any DevOps experience, Any UNIX troubleshooting experience, HPUX AIX SOLARIS (if they have all 3 great, but don't have to have any of these since now Linux is OK)
Day to Day:
• Provide Tier 2 Support for production Environment, which supports all of the internal firm employees. There are roughly 50,000 users and this teams supports the SYSTEMS so the business/users can stay online. The schedule is 4 days a week, 10 hours a day schedule. The System Administrator will serve as the liaison with the hardware team. The System Administrator will troubleshoot, for example, memory checks, server component checks, checking ILO consoles, rebooting a box, cleaning up a disk, overall health checks and host problems).
