Lead Software Engineer (Cloud/Dev Opps)

This role is part of the DMED Ad Platforms team, responsible for the global technology platforms that support digital ad serving for DMED. This team drives automation and efficiency, streamlines and strengthens our distribution pipeline and technology stack, engineers platforms that manage content metadata, and delivers critical business systems that materialize sales commitments into delivery reality.

Responsibilities:As a Software Engineer you will use your coding, DevOps, and data skills to write and test code that delivers new features for our application portfolio. You will be an important part of a motivated team where we’ll be looking for you to collaborate with the team to drive new features, code quality, and make sure we are building the right things for our users. We want someone that has solid DevOps experience - possessing 4 or more years’ experience in designing and managing highly scalable, secure, performant, and usable systems leveraging cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate would possess skills in Infrastructure as Code, scripting and automation, while having expertise with orchestration and containerization platforms (Docker and Kubernetes), coupled with hands on persistence and data streaming technology experience (MySQL, Postgres, Redis, Kafka).

Basic Qualifications:-Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or another technical field
-Have 4+ years of experience in DevOps in a fast paced environment using Terraform, python, including familiarity with modern frameworks and platforms (e.g., Node.js, Spring, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS)
-Be able to demonstrate experience working with relational databases, SQL and newer NoSQL data stores as well as event streaming platforms
-Demonstrate a background working with open source technologies and cloud native engineering principles and patterns
-Care about your craft and have opinions about the “right” way to do things with technology
-Previous work experience in media production, broadcast and/or distribution
-Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high quality results
-Knowledge of performance testing and application profiling
-Strong curiosity about how Disney delivers the Magic and a desire to be a part of it
