Java Engineer
Job Summary and Opportunity
Axos is seeking a software developer with expertise in building reliable, high performance applications using Java technologies. As a Java developer on our team, you will work closely with team members and other stakeholders to create industry-leading software that equips our clients to scale their businesses. Specifically, you will help create and support Enterprise-grade Java applications for the financial services industry. You will contribute directly as a developer within the Agile iteration cycle and participate in detailed design for new product capabilities and improvements. This position is on-site and may be located in Centennial CO, Omaha NE, Las Vegas NV, or 100% remote, depending upon your location.
The targeted compensation is $110,000-125,000/Yr, commensurate with your skills and experience. This role is eligible for a bonus, based on your individual performance. Axos offers full benefits that includes 3 weeks' vacation accrual, paid sick leave, along with the NYSE observed holidays.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects and other developers on specifications, designs, standards, code reviews, and test capabilities
- Contribute to coding, testing and deployment decisions
- Partner with Product, Project, QA, DevOps, and Support teams to release high-quality software and ensure its reliable operation in production
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or a related field OR equivalent training and experience
- 3+ years' hands-on experience building production applications using Java platform technologies
- Sound knowledge of core Java language and platform features
- Experience with Architecture design using Enterprise Integration Patterns/.MERN/MVC
- Rest APIs and JSON
- SQL and Relational Database experience
- Messaging systems: RabbitMQ, Apache Artemis/Classic, Kafka
- Leadership positions/roles on teams/projects
- Project planning and estimation of tasks
Preferred:
- Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST, JSF, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Apache Camel
- JEE, JPA/Hibernate, and SQL in production applications
- Git and Gradle/Maven
- Agile development methodology
- Previous financial services industry experience
- Experience with "real time" systems
