As the Java Developer, you will support the Enterprise Content Management Work Program and fundamentally enhance a Fortune 500 company's critical business process platform, in refactoring and re-engineering and new development You will research, design, define, develop, test, document, and implement new computer applications or changes to existing applications following business standards. You will also utilize programming tools effectively to ensure accuracy and enhance productivity. Additionally, you will:
- Consult and/or advise business unit associates by written and/or verbal communication on inquiries concerning existing or proposed systems
- Prepare deployment packages for migration of solutions to the non-production environments
- Provide training and mentoring to other programming staff, systems managers, business unit management, or business unit associates on technical topics or systems definition
- Handle multiple assignments with multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
What You'll Need to be Successful:
- 2 to 5 years of experience with Java development
- 2 to 3 years of experience with web services and web service protocols (SOAP, REST)
- Bachelor's degree or commensurate selection criteria experience
- Experience with Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE), JSPs, JPA, advanced Java, Hibernate, HTML, XML, DHTML, web services (REST, SOAP), WebSphere, and Eclipse
- Sound knowledge of design patterns
- Familiarity with ORM tools such as Hibernate
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit
- Proven significant programming experience (research, design, gathering requirements, working with business units, developing programs, testing, documentation, and production support)
- Demonstrated experience working in matrixed project teams employing software engineering principles such as design patterns, versioning software, continuous integration, automated deployments, and automated test tools
- Demonstrated experience with database design fundamentals and a working knowledge of a relational DBMS, preferably Oracle or MS SQL Server, and proficiency with SQL
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused, and concise manner
- Ability to provide examples of working under multiple deadlines with minimal supervision and successfully organizing and effectively completing projects with little or no direction
Great Additional Skills:
- 1 to 3 years of experience with IBM Case Manager 5.2/5.3
- Experience with Spring framework
- Experience with IBM Content Navigator or developing web applications for IBM WebSphere application server 8.x
