The GPS III/IIIF program is responsible for the development and production of the next-generation of GPS satellites. The United States Space Force (USSF) is producing and deploying 10 GPS III satellites that will provide expanded warfighter and civilian capabilities. In addition, the USSF has awarded a contract for up to 22 additional GPS III follow-on (GPS IIIF) satellites. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to provide technical and programmatic support to the GPS III/IIIF launch vehicle integration efforts and interact effectively with the USSF, SETAs, Engineering & Technology Group (ETG), and contractors in a fast-paced program office environment. The selected applicant will proactively lead and perform efforts in support of the production and deployment of the GPS III/IIIF satellites.
This position can be filled as a Level 2: GPS Systems Project Engineer or as a Level 3: GPS Systems Sr Project Engineer.
What You'll Be Doing
- Join a team of diversely skilled engineers focused on the production and deployment of the remaining five GPS III satellites, as well as future GPS IIIF satellites, execute technical performance requirement assessments, risk assessment and management, and support program execution
- Identify issues, provide non-directive advice, prioritize evaluation tasks and facilitate communication
- Provide launch vehicle integration support in all areas of the GPS III/IIIF effort, including the development and verification of interface requirements and leadership of special studies such as early integration studies for new launch vehicles
- Act as a technical representative to the USSF covering Systems Engineering and Integration disciplines in support of Launch Operations on the GPS III/IIIF contracts.
- Act as liaison between the satellite and launch vehicle program office teams, including preparation of launch milestones, interface requirements development and verification, evaluation of SV launch configurations and system test reports, and communication of Government technical decisions to satellite and launch vehicle contractors.
- Provide technical expertise to ensure successful program milestone reviews, contract modifications, review of contractor deliverables, requirements development, risk identification and mitigation, and schedule development.
- Investigate technical problems, assemble briefings and reports, and provide technical data to address government action items and programmatic taskers.

Minimum Requirements for Level 2: GPS Systems Engineer - Project Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics or a related technical discipline
- Typically, 8 or more years of increasingly responsible relevant professional engineering experience
- Effective interpersonal skills to successfully interact with Aerospace peers, internal and external customers, and contractors
- This position requires a current Secret security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- Ability to effectively lead and manage technical projects
- Ability to manage Engineering & Technology Group (ETG) matrix support
- Ability to travel domestically and occasionally support extended work hours
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for Level 3: GPS Systems Engineer - Senior Project Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics or a related technical discipline
- Typically,12 or more years of increasingly responsible relevant professional engineering experience
- Experience with satellite or launch vehicle systems, including satellite and/or launch vehicle development, production, mission integration, test, and/or operation
- Demonstrated experience leading and effectively managing projects
- Experience synthesizing and presenting technical data clearly and concisely to senior management as reports or briefings
- This position requires a current Secret security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- Ability to travel domestically and occasionally support extended work hours
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Lockheed Martin A2100-specific launch operations experience, including space vehicle bus and/or payload operations
- Detailed knowledge of GPS satellite design or operation, both current and future, or knowledge of GPS Control Segment design and operation
- Detailed payload integration and launch vehicle operations knowledge of the Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle family of boosters
- Experience identifying and resolving technical problems of complex systems
- Experience identifying and resolving satellite anomalies
- Current Top Secret/SCI clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
