The Special Projects Team is a nimble team of high-caliber engineers and scientists scaling Verkada marketing efforts through smart autonomous agents. We believe that b2b marketing can be run near-autonomously with minimal human supervision. Following the successes of in-house marketing tech teams at Airbnb, Uber, and eBay, we build state-of-the-art software for the b2b space inside Verkada.
Recent advances in natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and cloud-based SaaS interoperability, create a strong foundation for building truly autonomous demand generation systems. Our apps are primarily written in python/django and hosted in GCP. Some UIs utilize Vue.js components. We try to follow the best development practices (TDD, DRY, orthogonality) as long as they speed up the journey from 0 to 1.
The compensation structure follows that of hedge funds: base compensation and a bonus for high performance. Stuff you work on can be published as long as it doesn’t hurt the core business (i.e., cloud-based physical security). The total compensation is priced fairly to the market.
Responsibilites
- Own and spend marketing budget optimally within one channel of choice (e.g., google ads, LinkedIn ads, email, direct mail, partner marketing)
- Design, build and own software that automates demand generation within the channel
- Evaluate and get inspiration from the state-of-the-art marketing automation software.
Requirements
- Raw smarts, moving fast from 0 to 1: idea/research, proof-of-concept, prototype MVP.
- Mastery of Python, setting up web servers, data pipelines, and message queues.
- Understanding of core statistics/ml/optimization principles is a plus.
- Positive attitude, first-principles thinking, passion for growth, contribution, and impact.
- Comfortable working as an IC and also interacting closely with a handful of (very smart) people
