What you'll do (Design & Development)

• Architect a next-generation frontend application for a core business system from the ground up.
• Help define standard patterns that drive improved code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
• Identify, scope, and architect solutions for new features while considering technology alternatives and all impacts/tradeoffs.
• Coach and mentor other engineers in engineering techniques, processes, and new technologies; enable others to succeed.
• Participate in the full SDLC; including development, estimation, planning, and design.
• Automate testing in unique ways to prevent regressions of visuals, performance, and functionality.
• Support the build and deployment pipeline and when necessary, both diagnose and solve production support issues.
• Diagnose/troubleshoot complex issues independently.
• Help create documentation and training related to technology stacks and standards within the team and greater org.
• Learn new technologies, frameworks, and systems and share your knowledge with engineering teams across H-E-B.
• Communicate individual and project-level development statuses, issues, risks, and concerns to technical leadership and management.
• Help grow Digital Engineering by driving the execution of organization-wide activities.
• Contribute to growing a stellar team of engineers through interviewing.

Who You Are:

• You're an expert with modern web application concepts, challenges, and design patterns.
• You're familiar with modern Angular development patterns including reactive programming, smart/dumb component design, and code colocation.
• You understand relevant modern, low-level web concepts, APIs, and CSS feature sets.
• You're prepared to architect quality best practices, ideal patterns & solutions, and other educational material that you can advocate for and mentor other engineers about.
• You have an ownership mentality and a consistent track record of successful, high-quality results.
• You care about building solutions that help scale systems and processes.
• You're capable of independently delivering tasks with moderate to high complexity.
• You value team dynamics and want to work to grow junior engineers.
• You have a strong understanding of coding standards and design principles/patterns.
• You have a solid knowledge of CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• You're capable of providing production support, debugging, and troubleshooting for moderate to high-complexity issues.
• You have a bachelor's degree in computer science or a comparable field or equivalent self-study.
• You have 4+ years of development experience across different teams, products, and codebases.
