Your Responsibilities
As an entry-level Front-End Developer/Engineer for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group located in Urbandale, IA, you will participate on a team to design and develop high quality software for in-cab vehicle displays. In addition, you will:
- Perform basic product design, testing and/or analysis work for a defined portion of a project.
- Operate in an Agile software development team, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews.
- Develop recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by technical leads before implementation.
What Skills You Need
- Experience with software product development through practical work experiences, internships or academic experience
- Experience designing modern UIs in Qt/QML, React, Angular, SwiftUI, etc.
- Experience with programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, Python, Bash, C++, Java, C# etc.)
- Experience with the UI design process, including wireframing, design, redlining, and implementation
- Experience in roles that required demonstration of excellent communication skills
What Makes You Stand Out
- 1+ years experience and expertise with Qt, including Qt Core, QML, QtQuick and QtQuick3D or similar front-end design tools
- Experience creating and using reusable components from UX wireframes
- Experience using UX design tools such as Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe XD, and Zeplin
- Experience using 3D tools such as Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Maya, Blender or ZBrush
- Experience with modern 3D graphics and the rendering pipeline (OpenGL ES, Vulkan, fragment and vertex shaders etc.)
- Experience with Agile software development processes
- Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and software test automation
- Experience and expertise with C++ (including modern C++ syntax, patterns, practices)
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, UX, Fine Arts or equivalent work experience
