Flight Sciences - CFD Engineer - AREA-I

WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Flight Sciences Engineer – CFD is responsible for designing new and evaluating existing aerodynamic vehicles and components. This role involves supporting project engineering teams to provide subject matter expertise to design impacts on the entire aircraft system and for the testing and implementation of new subsystems. This role will specialize in using Computational Fluid Dynamics as a resource among a wider array of aerospace engineering processes and is expected to be very hands-on with design cycles from concept through bench testing and flight testing. This position is a part of the Flight Sciences team, and the engineer will work within this team alongside GNC, aircraft performance, simulation, and flight test engineers in support of Area-I products.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or related background
- Expert understanding of aerodynamics principals
- Demonstrated use of CFD tools and results
- Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a resource and subject matter expert for aircraft program engineering teams
- Evaluate aircraft and aircraft components designs within a multi-disciplinary aircraft design team
- Compare data between analysis, simulation, wind-tunnel and flight data
- Modernize, improve, and validate aircraft design tools
- Flight test engineering, data collection, experiment design, data processing
