Vendr is a product and technology company with a super important service component. Our Customer Success Managers and Buyers are the face of our business to customers and vendor salespeople. It’s critical that their processes and tools be incredibly effective and highly automated/optimized. The better their tools, the better the customer experience and the more time they can spend ensuring customers and salespeople are incredibly happy working with us, and we’re able to negotiate the best possible outcomes on every deal.

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of helping us solve key business questions while driving the growth of this department. We are building an experienced Product Engineering team that can quickly iterate on new ideas and can solve problems in sophisticated and maintainable ways, and you’ll be at the forefront of hiring, career pathing and retention as we scale our team to 20+.

Please note, our headquarters are located in Boston and Charleston but this role can be remote.

We are looking for engineers who:

• Are comfortable participating as a hands on contributor and ramping up on management responsibilities as the team grows,
• Ideally have managed (directly or indirectly) a team of 3+,
• Can develop career pathing opportunities for engineers at varying experience levels and are experienced running 1:1’s,
• Are passionate about writing quality software while making appropriate trade-offs to move quickly and sustainably,
• Have an active role in interviewing, hiring and onboarding new team members,
• Effectively partner with cross-functional teams to help ‘be the voice’ of engineering and bridge non-technical audiences and executive leaders,
• Have extensive experience with Ruby on Rails and Postgres,
• Are keenly aware of the security implications of the code they write and proactively resolve and protect against vulnerabilities,
• Have at least 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
