Engineering Manager - Moderation

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Content Moderation Engineering team to lead the content moderation and integrity effort for Discover and Spotlight products. Eventually working from our offices in the bay area, you will manage a team of talented full-stack engineers to build critical content moderation systems and review tools. Content Moderation is a dynamic, creative, highly collaborative area where engineers contribute not only to technical design, coding and operational excellence, but also to product ideation, defining success metrics, and solving real-world content safety challenges.
As an experienced engineering leader you have consistently delivered strong business results and led mission-critical projects to completion. You build successful engineering teams with vision, mission, and sustainable engineering processes with a strong commitment to operational excellence.
What you’ll do:
Manage and mentor a team of full-stack developers, in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment
Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver
Collaborate with Product, Operation, Data Science and Engineering teams, and executive stakeholders
Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor
Iterate quickly without compromising quality and raise the bar on operational excellence
Define clear success metrics for the team as a whole and for team members individually
Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
8+ years of experience working in software engineering
1+ years managing one or more teams of software engineers
Experience with distributed systems and web development
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Content Moderation or Trust & Safety space
Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company
Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments
